Lady Louise's A-List Life

silent hill, working out and erecting tents

Friday night was gym night, and it was the first night there for the little people who thoroughly enjoyed it! Which is good!

Well folks, having started with book reviews, (which you seem to like) it only seems fair to move onto Film reviews! Saturday I spent the day doing my favourite thing…. Shopping! I didn’t actually buy anything, but there were a large group of us in tow, mum, Peter, Peter’s children! So it was a good day. In the evening, mum and I went to see ‘silent hill’… I don’t know what to say about this film really apart from it’s a bit weird. It has Sean Bean in, who is a well known British actor. Basically the plot is that Sean Bean and his Wife have an adopted daughter who frequently sleep walks, every time she is doing it she shouts out Silent Hill… the mum takes her to this ghost town, ‘Silent Hill’ in an attempt to find out what is wrong with her, and somehow enters a parallel world full of freaks, demons and fire…. They can’t find their way out and it seems very few people can find their way in! What I liked about the film was it did have some real gorey bits and quite an original story line, what I didn’t like was the fact that until the final 30 minutes I had no idea really what was going on…. The effects are great and gruesome, the plot does keep you interested… but be warned, if you aren’t going to pay minute attention, you will not know what is happening! You will like it if you liked 13 ghosts, and the crucible!

Sunday was a day spent at the gym… I worked out for so long that my limbs ached today, and then lastnight Peter came around and we figured how to put up the new tent… ok so it isn’t a Tee Pee, I don’t get my own way on that one unfortunately, but nonetheless, it is pretty nice! I might just get a Kath kidston chair or something though to pretty it up a little…. Well got to dash, off to get a door into the back of a car…. I swear, with all the boyish/ adventure I get up to just lately, one would never think I was a lady!

Castleton, walking boots and spanking new tents

So… Adventure Sunday. Peter had suggested a day in the Peak District taking photographs, I’ve never been before to that area of England and some one who does a lot of hiking and camping, suggested that Castleton was a lovely place, it’s kind of between Derby and Sheffield I think and they weren’t wrong. Of course it helped that the weather was smiling on us, but it really is a picturesque village, and despite it being Easter Sunday, everywhere was open and it was really bustling. We also brought young Prudence (Peter’s Airedale terrier) with us, and she loved the day out. We felt a bit under prepared though when we got there as all the hikers had their boots and sticks, we simply had large camera bags … ooops.

We first made our way to Peveril Castle, that was our first steep climb of the day, but it was worth is for the fantastic views of the village below and Mam Tor overlooking the village. I was working in black and white and the skies were fantastic, so I shot loads of pictures up there. The scenery and the gorges really are stunning. When we got back to the bottom we headed for one of the four caverns, but we were too late and it was closing … that’s unfortunate because it looked stunning, hopefully we’ll get back there this summer and into the cave. Having been turned away there and enjoying a rather lovely cream tea at an outdoor café, we headed off up towards Mam Tor and Winnats pass. Peter had the great idea of trying to climb one of the steep hills, they had sheep on them too, which was pretty cool… now I am not averse to climbing, but I have warned him, if we plan to be doing this on a regular basis, then we need walking boots!!! Really though, if you can get there, go it’s really something to see.

Now with my new found sense of adventure, I have been looking at the millets website and the blacks’ one, and I quite fancy this tent

Or, failing that, I want this one,

And I’m off to town to get a Kath Kidston sleeping bag at lunch time… ok, it isn’t walking boots, but still very useful.

 I can't think of a title

Friday of course was good Friday, so a bank holiday yey. No work. I have to say I did feel a little guilty about going shopping on Good Friday, but nonetheless, we (mum and I) toddled off to Leamington for a day in the shops. It was gloriously sunny, so we popped in House of Fraser to look at the sale. Mum got a lovely new DKNY handbag, and we looked in my favourite opticians too, where the Chanel glasses which I love are still in the sale… do I? Don’t I? Lol. I also found this fab book in walnut and weave… it’s called “This little piggy went to Prada” so cool, but I couldn’t afford it.

Saturday, was lovely again, so we went to Warwick and trawled the antique shops, but no bargains… all I bought was some egg cups, little pink retro ones, they are so cool. But apart from a lovely meal in the Aylesford hotel we didn’t get much… oooh I tell a lie, mum bought a great new cardigan. Saturday night was spent doing all the bits I hadn’t yet done and preparing for Sunday’s adventure.

Juicy, Tatler and a new family member

Tuesday already, it will be Easter before we even know it, and then I have the hugest Duc’do chocolate egg off my lover, I’m going to break the bottom off, put in on my head and eat my way out I think… yum, my mouth is watering at the thought of it.

So what have I been doing of late, well last week I won a von Dutch wrist band to wear to the gym off ebay £2.99, I thought that was a bargain. See I do love the new gym but I still have this undying need to pose… even though I’m neither sporty nor fit, I feel I have to still take my labels in there. So it started with the Von Dutch wrist band, and then I won a Juicy Couture bowling bag off ebay over the weekend… I’m sincerely hoping that it is going to be large enough to carry my kit. It’s navy blue, with the Juicy logo and writing on the front in white, I won’t divulge the price but needless to say it’s a bargain, all I need now is the Juicy tracksuit.

Saturday, me and mum didn’t go too far, she has been ill for some time now and so I have been trying to break her in gently to getting out and about again, so we went to some shops and bought frames for my exhibition prints, I still have so much to frame, god only knows how I am going to afford it all before my exhibition takes place on 20th May. We also bought a new Hamster. A girl again, with ginger coloured hair, she is tiny and we have called her Geri, she’s so cute.

Sunday, I had borrowed Peter’s laptop, and after fitting some hooks to my walls to house my ever increasing selection of bags, and reading this months Tatler magazine, I filled in some application forms for new jobs. I’m really pants at filling in application forms though, I somehow never manage to reflect my full range of skills in them, but needless to say I would be made up if I got any of the 3 jobs I applied for last week, we’ll see and I’ll keep you posted. Then yesterday was back to the old grindstone. I’m off this afternoon though to do a Tai Chi class at the gym, I hope it is good… I’m also trying to cut down on the amount of food I am consuming, having kept track of all my spending lately I have worked out that in little over 2 weeks I have eaten £88 worth of food, that’s right folks, an ipod shuffles worth… with change. So now I am carrying less money on me to work when I am bringing lunch with me, something has to give if I am to get out of my overdraft. Mind you I think the writing down of all my spending really really helped me a lot. That was a good first start, and I know it is going to be a hard drag out of it, but I’ll be much happier when I get there.
