Lady Louise's A-List Life

The greyhound, the RST and early Sunday mornings

Well folks, sorry I haven’t gotten round to updating you on my weekend until now… Wednesday. Been a bit busy though. But see I don’t forget about you, I’m telling you now.
Friday night, I wasn’t seeing Peter, so I ended up in a local pub with mum. It’s called the greyhound and in the summer it’s fantastic as it is just on the canal, even in the midst of cold winter though it is still good because it is always packed and has a really oldy world feel to it. Plus its really cosy, always a plus when we are threatened with snow.
Saturday morning (well it’s usually afternoon when I get out of bed) I took my mum up to Bedworth, she wanted to get some stuff and also I wanted to have a look at [[LINK; Bedworth civic hall, www.civichallinbedworth.co.uk]] as that is where I will be staging my exhibition in May. The gallery space isn’t too bad as it goes. It’s large enough for me to display all of my best photographs and to have a feel for doing a proper exhibition, but yet it isn’t so big that I am going to have to search for things to fill it up with. I do have a good catalogue of images to choose from, but I do need to do some further work too. So anyway, after that I went home to get some food and get ready to go out in the evening.
Peter came to pick me up at about 6pm, looking mighty fine in his black suit (my favourite I have to say) and off we went to stratford upon avon, we had tickets to go and see the crucible at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and what a great play that was. I know that I really enjoyed it… and I think Peter did too. Mind you, I’ve never not enjoyed a play at the RST and for Peter it was his first time there, he has decided that he would like to do much more going to the theatre, I’m not complaining, it’s better than going to the pub all of the time. When the play was over, we went for a curry in a local curry house, Thespians, and then went home. An early start was ahead of us.
Sunday morning, and my immediate thoughts were “what the hell am I doing out of bed at 8am on a Sunday?” and the answer? Getting ready to go out taking photographs to use in my exhibition! We were going to head out towards bruntingthorpe and just look for picturesque images, in the blistering cold, wrapped up like a pair of Arctic monkeys, but as we drove out there Peter remembered a place just outside of Nuneaton (Astley) with lovely ruined buildings. I must say I was overwhelmed by the church and the ruins and ran off 2 rolls of black and white… I love it when you get to a place like that which excites you… even the hypothermia can’t stave off the enjoyment of the place. Then at lunch time we went for a lovely Sunday lunch at the Bull and Butcher in Corley before I went home to read the Sunday papers and spend the rest of the day chilling out. It makes me realise when I get up really early like that at a weekend just how much can be crammed into a day if you get up early enough, but then I have to battle with myself to get up early in the morning during the week for work, I can’t imagine me being able to do it at the weekend without good reason and somewhere to go!
I had such a lovely weekend with Peter this weekend, we had so much time together and done such nice things together. You couldn't beleive just how much I enjoyed it.
Anyway Sunday was another early night in preparation for a 6am start for work the following morning… roll on Friday!

Bond Street blue, park avenue pink and the smythson dilemma

Well folks, it’s nearly the weekend yey. Hopefully mine will be a busy one, I’m off to see the crucible at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre on Saturday and hopefully Sunday morning I will be out in the country taking photographs for my exhibition.

I wanted to update you on my rantings and ravings about never having anyone to write a proper letter too. I’ve recently invested in some beautiful smythson stationary. I had trouble deciding on the colour, being so terribly indecisive, I wasn’t sure whether I wanted Park Avenue Pink or Bond Street Blue. Well I finally decided that this was going to be my signature note paper from now on and at £10.00 for a box of paper and the same for envelopes, I can’t afford to get it wrong, so I got the blue and it’s very lovely. It’s still sitting in its lovely box on my dressing table. But I have discovered a snail mail penpals Site and have seen a couple of people to write to on there, one in LA in the states, a girl, so I have written her a letter and hopefully she’ll reply. I’ll keep you updated, in the meantime, have a fab weekend dahlings!

Prada, roxy music and holiday brochures

Well folks, I have had an up and down time, between arguments at home and displeasing people and then running round busy with work. No wonder I haven’t had time to write to my blog hey? But I’m back now and going to update you all, I know you are sitting on the edge of your seats… or maybe not, but I’ll update you nonetheless.

I’ll leave out the arguments and rubbing people up the wrong way I think, you don’t want to read about that depressing stuff do you? I’ll stick to the good stuff.

Saturday I went to Leamington with my mum. I had ordered some new glasses from an opticians there, quite a select little place that deals with designer frames mostly. So I had ordered these gorgeous Prada frames, you see I have to wear glasses every day of my life and although I love my Karen Millen specs, I thought it would be nice to have a second pair to change into when the mood takes me. My new ones I fell in love with as soon as I put them on, they have pink arms with Prada written on and the frame itself is gold. Peter pointed out they are very blinging, which is probably why I like them. We didn’t stay too long in Leamington, long enough for me to get some of my favourite champagne truffles from Thorntons and then have a mooch around a photography exhibition in the pump rooms. I didn’t really rate it much I hope mine turns out well. Although the prints from that exhibition cost £2,500, quite a bit more than my £20 - £30, why can some people charge that? And get it? I also picked up some brochures of fun things to do over the coming months, including going to see a play out in Warwick Castle in the summer with Peter… I’ll make a lovely Champagne picnic for the occasion I think, also got a leaflet about a narrowboat cruising restaurant which leaves from Stratford upon Avon, so I reckon I am going to take mum for a meal on it for mothering Sunday. Saturday night, was just me and mum out again. We went to the Nags in Nuneaton to see a Roxy music tribute band. Mum is crazy about Roxy music and I quite like their music too, I was pleased with the band too, they were very talented. In fact there hasn’t been a band at that pub which hasn’t been good.

Sunday, I popped out in the day to get some more clothes for the gym, which as yet hasn’t opened, I’m waitng eagerly for it to open as I can’t wait to get in and work out, but in the mean time I’m stocking up on nice gym clothes. I stopped myself from getting a Von Dutch bag to go with though, I’m overspending so much lately. Then Sunday night I was out with my lover, we had a lovely time and went to the pub to look at holiday brochures. I also presented him with a book I had made, a ‘love book’ full of photographs and poems, he liked it! I love time like that spent with him, just doing normal couple things like reading holiday brochures, I think it’s really sweet. And what a fab way to start the week. Especially the busy week I have had as since then I have been in Newcastle on business. What a lovely place that is too, I wouldn’t mind going back there sometime, I’m glad to be home now though.

 Urban 4x4s

I was reading and article the other day about plans which are afoot relating to how children are going to be admitted into schools and how the government will be trying to ensure there isn’t a case of the best schools getting only the elite pupils… which I think is a really good idea, it is useful to have a good mix of abilities. Anyway I was insensed to find in the article that some schools might be more inclined to take on students if for instance they turn up in a 4x4… why? Surely urban schools should be encouraging people not to drive these monster wagons, not equating them with money and encouraging them. I hate urban 4x4s, if you agree then visit The alliance against urban 4x4s you’ll love it!

 Coventry's super casino

Coventry has been trying to get the first of the UKs super casinos placed at the Ricoh arena, amidst stiff competition from NEC Birmingham and other regions. I personally would love the Ricoh to get the bid and have the casino, for those of you who don’t know Coventry, it’s hardly top of the list of wonderful places to go and so such a high status casino would pump in necessary revenues, jobs and excitement to give this city some real status. The Ricoh is already doing this, what with having bands such as Bon Jovi playing there this summer, and the new gym and stuff. Anyway blog fans, wherever you are from, if you think that my hometown should have the casino then go to the Coventry Now campaign website and sign the petition for us to get it. Hope you all have a nice weekend.
