Lady Louise's A-List Life

 I'm not a plastic bag

Today was the ‘Anya Hindmarch’ bag day, so so far my day has gone something like this:

6:00am – Wake up and get ready for work

6:30am – Arrive at Sainsburys to queue up for my limited edition (there are only 60 of these on sale in Coventry) Anya Hindmarch bag

6:45am – Issued with my number which guarantees I get one of the 30 (I’m number 15)

7:00am – we’re allowed instore to wait

7:30am – Buy the bag

7:50am – arrive in work the earliest I have ever been looking very smug in the knowledge I have the limited edition it bag of the year.

8:00am – very tired!

 Weekend

Well, it’s been a quiet old weekend… but then it always is before pay day!

Saturday I spent the day in Leamington shopping with my mum, that was most enjoyable! While I was there I popped into the mobile phone shop and despite not being due an upgrade until December, I’ve decided next time round I’m going to have a PDA phone… now I’m not sure what exactly has sparked this new found need for a PDA, whether it’s the fact that a few of the people in my office have recently been issued with Blackberrys, or because of the sheer amount of stuff I have to carry around in my handbag that I just think it would be better if I could slim it all down into one device, or it might just be that the only time I have time to go on a computer is while I’m on the go, and therefore this would be ideal! Anyway, I’m sure it’s a passing phase and that by the time December comes I won’t want one at all, however, if I do get one I wonder, will I be able to keep my blog up to date a little better? Hmmm!

Sunday, Peter and I went viewing houses! The least said about that the better I think, but we have upped the anti and are looking ‘farther afield’ now on our hunt for the perfect home!

Now, tomorrow, I have to tell you because I am sooooo excited! Tomorrow the Anya Hindmarch limited edition ‘I’m not a plastic bag’ bag is released in sainsburys (for those of you who do not know who Anya Hindmarch is, what planet are you from? Only kidding, she is an uber desirable handbag designer from England whose bags usually range from around £300 upwards and are always limited edition) In order to raise awareness or climate change (a subject I keep banging on about to everyone just lately… BTW have you seen an inconvenient truth?) these bags are £5! Now what this means is that when Sainsburys opens the doors at 7am tomorrow morning, I will be outside waiting to buy it before it sells out (as it did in the anya hindmarch shop) by tomorrow night, so I’ll be getting up at about 6:15am, to get ready for work to get to sainsburys to get my bag! Woo hoo! Watch this space, lets hope I get one!

 Sunday sunday

Sunday was also fun filled… for some reason despite being totally exhausted I kept waking up on the hour every hour from 7am… finally at 10am I decided to get up and head back home to Peter, he still had the children and as it was a glorious sunny day we were heading off to Stratford for a day by the river!

Stratford was packed, and I thought I looked damn stylish in my Evisu shoes, white trousers and orange vest… not to mention my (rip off) Dior sunglasses. The first place we went was my fave, the gallery boat, it’s a barge on the river which houses a gallery and Peter bought this fab print from the really talented artist Dylan Izzak who does these amazing unusual pieces of art, we bought Moulin Rouge.

After a lovely salad (aren’t I doing well on my diet) we found ourself in an opticians (I was looking at frames after Prudence the dog ate my favourite Karen Millen pair) but I got swayed by the sunglasses section and was trying on Gucci and Prada etc… Until I stumbled upon this lovely pair of green Gucci sunglasses, they are so nice, so Peter bought them for me… The Diors came straight off me and on to Sarah (who didn’t take them off for much of the rest of the day) meanwhile I posed in my gorgeous new Guccis… I’ll treasure them forever, they are so cool and it’s so cool to have genuine!

Anyway, after a fleeting look at the antique shop, we head off back to the car (which we had nicely cleaned on the way in) and head back to Coventry to eat our dinner al fresco in the evening sun… what better way to end the weekend?

The great quest for fish and chips

Well, I think you will all be glad to know it’s service as usual this week and I have been back to having one of my pre-house selling, hectic weekends!

Saturday, I was up bright and early… well early, to head over to pick mum and Bailey up for our 3 hour drive down south to Bournemouth beach! After the long drive, we were pleased to see the sea ahead of us… the sun was blazing, neither mum nor I were dressed appropriately in our big bulky jeans! The sea was lovely and after what seems like weeks of not getting very far, it was a joy to breathe in the sea air. We walked down the beach but Bailey was afraid of the sea… so I had to get the jeans rolled up and paddle in with him for him to go in at all, it was hilariously funny, it was like taking a young child to the sea! After a bit of a frolic in the sea, we head off to try to find some good old fashioned seaside food – Fish and chips!!! The outside area of Harry Ramsdens was totally packed, and we weren’t going to be allowed inside with Bailey… but no problem, every English seaside resort has an abundance of chip shops… doesn’t it? We walked away from the beach, and suddenly found ourselves in the middle of a shopping area which could rival any of the cities… now you know me, never a one to moan at shopping, but this wasn’t what we had come for, where were the chip shops and the cheesy souvenir shops? Well, after a long trawl into the ‘city’ it was pretty evident we weren’t going to get our fish and chips so we settled for paninis with a resolution to visit Southampton on the way home, that is a port and would surely sell fish and chips… wouldn’t it? We walked back to the sea to spend some more time on the beach, all the guys were in shorts and the girls in bikinis… and me and mum in jeans having expected the famous British weather!!!! But nonetheless, I took Bailey in the sea again and then we gave him a hugely amusing shower on the beach, before heading back for the car at around 5ish to begin the journey (which is only about 45 minutes) to Southampton.

When we arrived in Southampton, most of the crowds had cleared, although it was still lovely, warm, bright and sunny, we drove along the sea front until we found a quiet little car park, nestled among acres of trendy city apartments, now this looked like my sort of place! First things first, I’ve never been to Southampton before so I wanted to see the docks. It’s really a beautiful place, the docks looked tremendous with huge ships lying off port and the sun falling low and casting light across the sea. Bailey got overexcited by a swan that was cruising along and tried to jump over the side… thank god for leads, with his tiny little legs I’m not even sure he could paddle it! Anyway, having taken in the scenery we head off to the town centre in search of a chip shop and stumbled upon this great little road which was lined with restaurants and people sitting outside, perfect, al fresco dining! We walked along looking at the menus (expensive) and Bailey became most offended when a boy dog tried to hump him outside a pub… he was greatful we weren’t staying there! Finally being unsuccessful in our quest for fish and chips, we settled on Pizza express, but being on a diet (again) I opted for a rather healthy and totally gorgeous chicken salad! Bailey by now was totally exhausted by his day at the seaside and fell asleep under the table, mum devoured a lasagne and a couple of glasses of wine while we watched the world go by from our pavement table. Whilst there, we were astounded at the affluence of the area, a maserati parked right near to us, a porshe over the road, a Ferrari drove by not to mention numerous Audis and BMWs.

It was about 8:30pm by the time we decided to start heading back to Coventry. Night was falling over the docks and it looked so picturesque, but we had been on the go for almost 12 hours and both of us were exhausted. The drive took ages, and at one point I had both coffee and red bull at the same time to fight off the tiredness… needless to say when we arrived home after 11pm, we all just fell into our respective beds… Bailey had slept most of the way home anyway, but what a fab day out!

Keep your eyes peeled for my Sunday update, another wonderful day!

Has it really been that long?

Well folks, I know I have been totally slack in updating you on the happenings of late, but you see, Peter and I have put the house on the market, we are planning on moving, but that means lots of work and lots of effort, which is part of the reason I haven’t updated you!!! That and the fact that pretty much all we have done is decorate and garden non stop… we have seen a house we want but I’m not going to put details of that on here in case it jinxes us lol!

However, something we did manage to fit in was another trip to the Candy Box burlesque… and this time we brought my mum too! Once again it was fantastic. I wore my new Vollers corset which Mr M had kindly bought for me for Valentines day… wow they do wonders for your figure! Anyway, mum came along and I don’t think she was expecting such fun… as we walked up to the line… all kitted out in our best burlesque attire, she was enthralled to see everyone in exuberant and unusual costumes. We weren’t graced with Elvis and Marylin this time, but we did have the phantom of the opera and the joker from Batman in the queue! Once she saw the acts though she was amazed, from Red Sarah who spins fire tassles from her boobs to the great voltini who lights a bulb from his ass, she was in hysterics, and I think she could totally see why Peter and I have taken to the burlesque so much… it really is fantastic, but it was such a long time ago that it seems like a distant memory… ah well, time to start planning an outfit for the next one perhaps! :o)
