Lady Louise's A-List Life
Wednesday January 11, 2006
Right folks, I have just signed up to the Breast Cancer Care website and asked them to send me out a fundraising pack. I have set myself the target of raising at least £500 for them in just one year! So have any of you guys got any ideas as to how I am going to raise this money? Even better, are any of you in a position of offer me things I could auction/raffle to raise the money? By things I don’t mean the sweater you got of your mother in law at Christmas, I mean, dinner at the ritz or something wonderful like that!

After all my complaining about a complete lack of a dog, I feel that I should share my good news with you! Within the last hour I have got a dog! How good is that?
Someone at work was advertising a dog, a cocker spaniel to be precise, 1 year old, boy, that they can't look after any longer and wanted him to go to a good home! I was in the right place at the right time and he's coming round tomorrow to meet us, ooh I can't wait! I'm really looking forward to it! I'm so going to love him, Timmy he's called! I'll get pictures and post them all on here when he comes to live with us! So excited!

As you know folks, I have been ranting on about getting a dog for some time now and this weekend I went out with darling Peter and my mum to try and find one! Pups are such hard work, so I wanted an older one, and also get a kick out of thinking I have rehomed a poor unloved animal, so we decided to visit the dogs homes and see what we could get. First stop was dogs trust, it’s right out in the country side, but we found it! They had loads of dogs, collies, greyhounds, alsations, and springers… it was one such springer I fell in love with! It was in a kennel with a greyhound and the greyhound obviously didn’t like the springer (laddie), it kept growling at him, he was filthy and his face full of character I loved him, but unfortunately Springer Spaniels are a bit too boisterous for the little house I share with my mum! There was nothing there at all suitable for us. Off we went to Birmingham dogs home, this wasn’t nearly as nice but had lots of nice dogs, in particulary Staffordshire bull terriers! There was a young dog, it looked like spit the dog of 80s TV fame… he was friendly and cute and would have made a beautiful pet, but unfortunately when we got to the desk he had already been reserved! We left empty handed and headed back home to Coventry, stopping along the way at a pub for a nice dinner! That night Peter was vegging at my house, we all have the flu, although mine isn’t as bad as the others, and I think we were a bit disheartened that I had no dog… I know I was, and still am! I lay on the settee and fell asleep for most of the night! Next day I was up bright and early to go and see the house which Peter has bought! It’s fantastic, it’s in a gorgeous area, high up on a hill (good feng shui), with 3 bedrooms and a double bay, a lovely garden… in fact the whole house is just beautiful! I have already began planning our house warming party, I have a rough list of who is going to be invited, there are only about 30 so far, although I am sure I have probably missed one or two people out who will come to me in the course of planning… it is beautiful though! I can’t wait until he’s in there, hopefully within a few weeks! Poor sweetheart is so poorly now (I think it is from the excitement and tiring activities of the weekend) he is off work poorly! We went to look at more dogs at the RSPCA in Coventry yesterday and I saw some beauties, I could have loved so many of them… if they weren’t already reserved that is… damn it! When will I ever get a dog? When will my sweetpea be better? When will the housewarming party take place? Watch this space!

Well folks, I had intended to put this up here last week, but I've been so busy that I just haven't had the time. I seem to have come back to work with renewed vigour and so the time for updating my blog is getting less and less Now, why do we make New Years Resolutions? I've no idea, all the good intentions only last 2 weeks max before they go out of the window, but I intend to give it a really good go this year, I am going to stick to at least one of them, there is nothing exciting or dramatic in here, but here goes!
1. I am going to work really hard on my finances. I will plan a budget and stick to it in order to pay off in full both my credit card balance and my overdraft before the end of the year.
2. I am going to join the gym and stick with a new healthy eating plan in order to improve my health and appearance.
3. I am going to curb my road rage and stop swearing so profusely... I'll save it for special occassions
4. I am going to work towards getting a new job... I haven't quite decided what it is I want to do, but the clock is ticking so I need to have a good old think about it I reckon!
So only 4 of them, not too much and not too life changing. My Stars (Libra) say that this year I am going to come into money, so I am doing the lottery now, although I suspect my coming into money will be paying my debts off... which I fully intend to do! Will have to see how well I can stick to these!

Right, well I know I promised to come back and finish my blog later but I’ve been so busy catching up with work which has accumulated over the holiday that I just haven’t had time. So lets get on to New Years Eve. New Year we had tickets for the Lounge bar, this is usually a really nice place to go, but what happened New Year I don’t know! For a start off they seemed to have oversold the tickets so when you got in it was packed, too packed to move, then there were screaming adolescent girls everywhere, I mean really screaming, why do they need to talk at that volume? Then we couldn’t get a seat and everyone was just so arsey in there, you know the type, they love themselves and look down on everyone around them as though they are far superior to the world, I really hate people like that… Unless I’m given reason to with someone being nasty to me I would never be that horrible! So anyway, we stayed in there for half an hour before we decided that if we stayed in there we would probably end up giving someone a piece of our mind, and it was such a shame because we were all dressed so nicely, we had all really made the effort, Peter in his gorgeous suit, mum in a lovely black dress and me in my black satin hotpants and playboy top! Anyway, we walked back through town when my eye was struck by a notice for a New Years Eve ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show Party’ on the door of a bar called the Dog and Trumpet, now I had never before visited this bar, it’s where the Goths and the punks all hang out, and I don’t really dress to fit in there, nor do I usually listen to heavy rock… although I am not adverse to a bit of it every now and again. Anyway at only £3 to get in, we though we would give it a shot, and oh my god I am so glad we did, it was great! The people in there looked fantastic with all the dramatic make up and clothes, one girl even had a full length black taffeta ball gown with a corset on and loads of goth make up, she looked fantastic… we were blatantly townies in there, but they were so friendly, people were talking to us, and when we wished in the new year everyone was going wild on the dance floor and everyone was just generally friendly to everyone else! Why couldn’t they be like that in the other pub? I think I would go again, even though I’m not a goth, it’s a fantastic fun night out! Anyway, I wasn’t drinking as I was driving, so it was my responsibility to get a slightly merry mum and a rather drunk boyfriend home… that was fun, but not nearly as much fun as when Peter fell drunk into the washing up bowl, or him wearing my pyjama bottoms to bed… or even him mooning me which I now have a photograph of, it never ceases to amaze me the deterioration in men as soon as the drink starts flowing ha ha! I think we all had a really good time though!
