Lady Louise's A-List Life

 Pre- Christmas blog

Well then folks, Christmas is nearly upon us isn’t it? I am finding it increasingly difficult to get out of bed these mornings, knowing that the holiday is impending just makes you want to stay in bed and wait for it! Anyway, I thought I would fashion you a rather long blog. This is because at lunchtime on Friday I disband for my Christmas break not to return to the office until 5th January, this means I will not be able to update my blog until then as I have no internet at home to do it… not yet anyway!

I haven’t really got much to report from this week as it’s been pretty quiet, I suspect that as of tonight though it’s going to be a slow climb to hedonism! Tonight begins rather soberly with a visit to the pictures, we are going to see King Kong… can I just add that this is under duress, as someone who has grown up in a house where King Kong was idolised and the original with Fay Wray has graced my TV screen more than I care to remember, I could easily take this film or leave it… I would rather see Narnia, but no King Kong it is! Ah well it might be good, I just hope I don’t start blubbing at the end when they kill him… although after 3 hours I’m sure my buttocks will have gone to sleep and his death will be a welcome reprieve!

Tomorrow lunch Peter and I have to go into town to the lounge and buy some tickets for New Years eve… the original intention was to go to a 007 ball at the Hare and Hounds in Kersley, but I phoned today and they have bloody well sold out of tickets… we couldn’t get them before because we were waiting for payday so unfortunately we missed out, but nonetheless it should still be a good night, we’ll get glammed up and I’m driving so only a small Champers for me. They have a DJ and band on so it should be fun!

Then tomorrow after work Peter and I have to go to George Pragnell to collect my Christmas present, my Gucci icon ring, ooh I’m so excited about that! No doubt we’ll stop by a pub on the way home!

Friday is where the partying really starts, I’ll finish work at 2pm as everyone here will, and go home for a bath and sleep set for the night when it’s time to glam up and hit the town!

Then Christmas eve I’ll be in town again meeting up with some good friends who are back in the Midlands from London for Christmas, Christmas eve night will probably consist of partying followed by midnight mass! Usually I have always opened a pressy when I get back from midnight mass, but I guess I can’t do that this year because Peter will be coming round on Christmas day and we’ll open our pressies together, me him and my mum. Looking forward to opening that bottle of Veuve Clicquot and the supplementary bottle of CAVA I bought whilst out shopping last night… oooh also looking forward to trying my violet jelly which arrived from Fortnum and Mason’s yesterday while I was at work, I wonder if it is lush! I know the ginger shortbreads are, they are almost gone I think they taste that lush!

Boxing day onwards will probably consist of sale shopping and preparing to go and look for my dog, which you will recall I have been wanting for ages now! So there you have it, that’s how it all SHOULD pan out, of course you won’t know now until January will you? But be prepared, come January that is going to be one hell of a blog, in fact I might keep notes over the holiday to update you with in the New Year.

 out with the old

So 2005, only 11 days of it left and it seems to have gone by in the wink of an eye! You know how when you are growing up you hear people saying ‘the years go faster the older you get’… well it’s true isn’t it? I’m not sure if maybe it’s because at 24 my social calendar is filled with more exciting things than when I was 7 or 8… although I suspect that when I was 7 or 8 my life then probably felt just as exciting as it does now! Going out learning to rollerblade, going to the zoo or even to see Santa Claus at Christmas has been replaced with partying, shopping and counting down the days until the January sales. However with the fast passing of time it is all to easy to sit back and think, what have I done in a year? It’s all to easy to forget what fun, what achievements, what anything you have done in such a short space of time! So before I embark on setting my resolutions for the coming year (I don’t know why I do this as they only last a week) I thought I would reflect on what I have done in 2005… perhaps not a lot, in which case I need to do more in 2006, or maybe I haven’t done too badly. I guess you don’t know until you list it do you? Right so I will try to start at the beginning of 2005, excuse me if I go off on a bit of a tangent as I try to remember:

  • February – Second time lucky, I passed my Driving test
  • March – I bought a brand spanking new car Sometime during the year I had a poem excepted to be included in a poetry anthology called ‘body and soul’ (the book not the poem)
  • I embarked on a major relationship with Peter… I’m happy to say that’s still going!!
  • I turned 24 (ok so this is not strictly an achievement, however in this day and age where stepping out of the door holds risks, I feel reaching another year older is definitely something to be praised)
  • I completed an aromatherapy course
  • By the end of the year I should have completed a curtain making course
  •  I have attended my first ever movie premier and met both Colin Firth and Stephen Fry
  • I completed the race for life and raised a decent amount of money for Cancer Research

I can’t think of anything else I have done, but at least I know now I have done that stuff I can think about what I want to set my sights on for 2006… Watch this space!

 Weird U.S facts

Right folks, excuse the formatting on this post this is copied from an email a friend sent to me, weird or what though??

1) New York City has 11 letters

2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.

3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.

4) George W Bush has 11 letters.

This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets more interesting:

1) New York is the 11th state.

2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11.

3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11

4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11 The Twin Towers make an number 11

5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 = 11

6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. 9 + 1 + 1 = 11. Sheer coincidence..?! Read on and make up your own mind:

1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254. 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.

2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.

3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 =11. 4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident. Now this is where things get totally eerie: The most recognised symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book: "For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace." That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.

Still uncovinced about all of this..?! Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it made my hair stand on end: Open Microsoft Word and do the following:

1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.

 2. Highlight the Q33 NY.

 3. Change the font size to 48.

4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS What do you think now?!!
