I really need to make headway on my career, I have applied for 2 jobs and not even been given interviews. They were both management and both needed experience, I think that is why I didn't get them. I do have a fairly good CV, and a degree... which I am beginning to think isn't worth the paper it is printed on, let alone the £10,000 student debt it left me with! So I am doing things to make it look even better:
1. I'm teaching myself how to use microsoft project so I can put that on my CV,
2. Mr M has encouraged me to look into MENSA and see if I could join because apparently that would look good on my CV too,
3. I keep checking out the voluntary options on the web to see if I can get any managerial experience free!
I'm not sure at this point what else I can do. Peter and I have been talking about starting up our own business, but I'm afraid that until I achieve this move up the career ladder, I won't be happy to start up our own thing either! I know it is a silly thing to try to chase, and that my life seems to be full of me chasing objectives. I'm sure I only did a degree because a teacher told me I would never manage it 'not academic enough' apparently... but once I do this, I'll be happy, and still I should be in a position to look at branching out by 26 - 27.... so I'd still be a young entrepreneur!
