Lady Louise's A-List Life

 Top ten favourite websites

I just thought that you might be interested in what I think are my top websites… you might not be interested, in which case look away now… but if you are, you could always visit a few and see!

1. This is a website where you can get great deals on late hotel rooms for those short notice short breaks!

www.laterooms.com

2. Thomas Pink… now I am sure I have talked about Thomas Pink before, they do gorgeous shirts and ties and cuff links and blouses and just really nice quality things like that.

www.thomaspink.co.uk

3. Then there is heaven for designer shopping

www.net-a-porter.com

4. Stationary heaven

www.smythson.co.uk

5. There is a wonderful website where you can set up your very own wish list from all the websites on the net, then your family and friends can access it and buy you the things off it for your birthday or Christmas (unfortunately most of my wish list is extortionately expensive so I’ll never get it)

www.dreamofthis.com

6. For camera stuff it has to be

www.sevendayshop.com

7. Then there is my friend’s poetry website, which is well worth a visit!

http://poetrypoem.com/cgi-bin/index.pl?sitename=kimwakefield&item=guestbook&password=

9. I like the layout of this website on modern etiquette and manners, it’s just ashame there is nothing layed out like this for English Manners and etiquette… I do have a book called a modern girls guide to etiquette, and perhaps if I read it I wouldn’t swear so much when driving, but here’s another good one!

10. And finally, it has to be,

 Ouch!!! My Perfectly Manicured finger!!!

Lastnight, I was going for my monthly manicure. Now last month when I had one I was so pleased (it was the first manicure I had ever had) that I talked mum into booking an appointment with me this time! She did, but in the end she decided that she didn’t want a manicure after all… so I talked Peter into taking the appointment instead! Although Peter is a wonderfully groomed man, he isn’t a David Beckham type, that is to say, he doesn’t really go for the all out ladies grooming rituals on men. However, he has lovely hands and so I thought that a manicure would be a nice treat for him! He didn’t seem to get comfortable with it though! I could tell by the way he kept smiling at me awkwardly while he was getting it done! Lol! But bless him, he went through it and his nails do look nice… although he can’t see the difference, but a man never can! Unfortunately, my manicure wasn’t as leisurely as the last time! The man doing the manicure misjudged with the cuticle trimmers and cut my finger, right at the bottom of the nail, and it does hurt! I have a plaster on it today because it is quite a bad place to cut, it leaves you open to all sorts of infections! So today I have lovely manicured dark plum short nails, with a dirty great plaster spread right across the middle of one finger! Hopefully though I can take it off tonight when I have had a bath and it should be ok! I still booked another appointment for next month!!

After manicures we seemed to do the rounds in the town centre! I wanted to go to Inspire, but it wasn’t open, then we went to Playwrights but decided against that too and ended up in good old Pizza Hut! I so wanted that chocolate fondue, but ashame our eyes were bigger than our bellies!

 Monday blog

Hello blog fans! I didn’t buy the jumper in the end! I know, it’s lame of me isn’t it?

Anyway, it’s Monday morning, 11:24 to be precise so I only have 36 minutes before lunch… not that I am counting or anything. I just thought that in that time I would be really productive and update you all on my weekend!

Saturday, I went to Solihull with mum, with my shopping bug frame of mind, despite having less than no money, I still wanted to buy buy buy! Only women will understand this frame of mind I am sure. The weather was a bit pants, but it didn’t matter as Touchwood (the shopping centre) is all indoors anyway! I was determined to get to John Lewis and see what bargains I could get… and it’s a good job I did! I bought a gorgeous new coat, it’s gunmetal grey, wool cashmere blend and looks quite military (which is all in this season). It was a choice between that and a pink Jackie Onassis style coat… but when I put the grey one on a complete stranger told me how well it looked on me, so that sold it! Then mum and I were both swayed by the Elizabeth Arden counter, we spent a lot on skincare, but the gifts were great, mum got a wonderful purple mock croc travel bag and I got a lovely green (my favourite colour) make up bag with lots of goodies in. I’ve been using the serum now for 3 days, and I have to say, my skin already looks considerably better! I also got a lovely red new purse (a big one as I was fed up of my loose change bulging out of my little Louis Vuitton purse) from mango… I think that’s all… oooh no I lie, I bought a great little green tweed mini skirt from H&M! I don’t know why but once the winter comes I always like to have a green mini skirt, you can team it with so many things, and wear heavy patterned tights on with them and stuff… great!

Saturday night, I was going to the karaoke in Wolston with Peter, his mum and Colin! It was great, I wore my new skirt and his eyes nearly popped out when I took my coat off… unfortunately it did attract a little unwanted attention from some village idiot who lay down behind me when I went up to choose a song so he could cop and eyeful of what was under my skirt! I didn’t realise he was there, I stepped back and nearly fell over him, how embarrassing would that have been? But luckily, instead of that, I just stabbed him in the arm with my skyscraper stiletto heels… maybe he’ll think twice before doing that trick again! So I sung Heart of Glass, me and Peter did Crazy and then I tried the Gwen Stefani song, What you waiting for? Which is much harder than I thought it would be lol! But we had a great night, on the way out of the door, the guy who was running the karaoke ran after us to tell us we were the top two singers… unfortunately there was no bottle of champagne to win, I must have got it wrong, but I assume from the comment that if there was, then we would have won it!

Sunday I was just so busy, was running round doing errands for my gran, and trying to get the final assignment for my curtain making course done… but I didn’t get much of it done at all! I did pop out though to the shops again… a bad move as I ended up buying a new pair of tourquoise leather gloves! I just argue the point that I need gloves for winter and they need to be stylish. Admittedly, I could have picked up some cheap gloves in H&M at the weekend, 99p to be exact, but the leather ones were only £12… and they are gorgeous!

Anyway, I guess I should get on with some work now , I need something to fund my extravagant lifestyle!!!!!

 websites and money

I've been wasting the past half hour looking for something to buy on the internet, I was going through net-a-porter to try to find something, and I saw so many things. Then I came accross this gorgeous Chloe jumper, it's beige with aqua and pink stripes, reduced from £200 to £75... my problem though is that for some reason I can't bring myself to purchase things without someone else giving me the go ahead! So I sent a picture of it to my friend Tash... but she was busy and didn't get back to me fast, I knew I couldn't send it to my boyfriend because bless his heart, he's so busy I think he's just about to go to sleep on the desk! So I called my mum, I put forward my case for buying the jumper, and she talked me out of it. What I actually wanted her to say was "Oooh, a Chloe jumper for £75, what a good price, yes buy it"... what she actually said was, "Well, it's up to you, but you are quite into your overdraft, is it such a good idea?"... see those are the 'mum' words that without actually saying no, make you so guilty that you wouldn't dare... I think mums are taken aside once their daughters start shopping and are given special psychology classes and making their daughters not spend!

Well, anyway, I didn't actually buy the jumper... the reason being if we are going shopping tomorrow I might be able to get something from Karen Millen or John Lewis! But just because I felt hard done by and unable to shop, I went onto the Thomas Pink website and ordered a £4 handkerchief... how lame, and it's hardly as good as a Chloe jumper is it? But at least it's Thomas Pink, so I have managed one designer purchase this week! :o)

 Friday blog

So, it’s finally Friday then folks, officially 2 and a half hours until the weekend starts yey!

Lastnight, I went to a couple of pubs in Wolston (it’s a little village just outside of Coventry). I can’t remember the names of them, but they were both lovely! In the second one, there was this woman singing, and oh my god she was bad! She was so full of herself though, anyone would think her to be Joss Stone on her ego, what ashame her voice was more like one of the not so lucky hopefuls from pop idol… even Peter said, “if only Simon Cowell was here”… lol! To make it worse, she couldn’t dance either, although she thought she could! Lady who was singing in the pub in Wolston/Brandon lastnight, if you are reading this “DON’T DO IT”. Lol! Ooooh, made our evening I think! Sorry, that was totally bitchy wasn’t it? I’m not usually like that, it’s just sometimes it is called for! Anyway, what I was totally freaked out about was the fact that there was a huge well in the middle of the pub. It had a glass cover over it so you obviously couldn’t fall down it, but it was eerie, I don’t think I could live in a pub with a well in it! In fact I know I couldn’t … I’ve seen ‘The Ring’ I know what loiters in wells lol!

Yeauch…. I’m drinking a Dr Stuarts Detox herbal tea…. It tastes like someones smelly socks steeped in boiling water… anything that tastes this bad has to be good for you so I’ll drink it!

So what will I be doing for the weekend? Well tomorrow is shopping in Solihull… that’s kind of between Coventry and Birmingham, it’s nice! I think I have given my sweet pea the karaoke bug as Saturday night we are going to a karaoke, at least at this one you can win a bottle of champagne… I hope I win it, I quite fancy some Champers! I’m thinking of maybe singing Crazy by Patsy Cline… I usually stick to songs I know… a bit of Blondie, some Toni Basil etc, but I really love that song and half the fun of karaoke is trying something new and making a complete balls up of it isn’t it? Lol…. Yes I think I’ll do that!

Sunday, I’m having a relaxing day, going out to take some Autumn photographs, and having a nice bath, ready to start the week again on Monday! Hope you all have a good one!
