Lady Louise's A-List Life
Wednesday September 28, 2005
Well last night was the first night on my new Aromatherapy course. I have to say it was lots of fun. I went with my mum and we learned quite a bit… even though it was only the first lesson! Firstly there was the basic health and safety but then we went into a bit of medical information, things I would never have guessed, like for instance did you know that you can kill yourself from using essential oils wrongly? No me either, but some of them are highly toxic. Also we learned all about the base oils, grapeseed, almond, wheatgerm, jojoba, coconut, avocado…… with this we learned things like, almond and jojoba should never be used on a nut allergy sufferer! Well knock me over with a feather, I honestly was shocked to find out that some oils could have such a bad effect on a person! We didn’t learn any massage though, that is going to start next weekend with a hand and arm massage (the really good thing about this course is that in effect you are getting a free beauty treatment each week) and speaking of free beauty treatment I might also be bagging myself a free session of spray tan as a result… watch this space. The only downside I can see about this course is that I am going to have to cut me very long nails short… you can’t do massage when they are long!

I know that some people play the lottery religiously every week, twice a week! Some people probably spend more on entering the lottery than they do on clothes in a year, and put more into it than they ever win… all for that one in 7,000,000 chance that they might be the lucky ones and win the lottery in any given week… and how would it change their life? Well this week I have bought into that dream, I’ve bought a lucky dip for the Wednesday and Saturday draws… so if it’s me, if come Saturday I win millions of pounds (which would be amazing considering Sunday is my birthday), then what would I buy! Well let’s see, say I win, hypothetically, £5,000,000!
A house on the Kenilworth Road (very rich area of Coventry) that would take £1.5m easily what with fees and stuff.
A Mercedes SLK class in metallic blue…. There goes another £35k
A holiday home in Bulgaria ….. probably only as much as the car £35k
A weekend apartment in London £1m
A gold Gucci ring £225
A yacht £1m
A butler (suppose this would be an ongoing cost and I don’t know what the going rate for butlers is now)
I would invest £1m and spend the rest on luxury clothes, a rolex, and parties !
Oh please let me win this weekend!

I am sure that I have already mentioned on numerous occasions the fact that I am a spare time photographer (just to add that I am professional, I do have my qualifications) and not sure if I have mentioned it but I am working towards staging 2 exhibitions next year. Well I have run out of places to visit!! I know there are hundreds of places to visit to photograph beautiful landscapes… but I am drawing a blank on it this month. Any suggestions of local beauty spots would be greatfully received…. Particularly if they are in the midlands, but even if they aren’t please still suggest them… at least I might be able to build up a catalogue of places to photograph!

Since January I have been completing a home study course. OCN professional diploma in curtain making and soft furnishings through the National Design Academy. It isn’t something I am going to use to further my career, I already have a degree in Law and Social Policy. It has more been something to fill in a gap. I started it at a time when I wasn’t going out with anyone (which has since changed) and when I just needed something to do of an evening other than reading, writing poems, or taking photographs…. Perhaps I try to do too many things. However it is going to be a more than useful skill when my beau gets his new house and I can make curtains and make the place look swish, will have to start on the dining room of course as that is where I will be holding my dinner parties. Anyway the point is lastnight I finished my penultimate assignment which was to make:
1. A Roman blind 2. A London blind 3. A hard pelmet
This assignment seems to have taken me so so long to complete. But lastnight I sat there sewing for what seemed like hours, stabbing my hands with the needle in an attempt to achieve perfection, and finally I completed it. So will have to post it today!
